AREA INFORMATION
There is plenty to see and do in the area, from cycling, mountain biking, pony trekking, fishing and canoeing to birdwatching and walking. The area is drenched in history and Rhayader itself dates back to the 5th Century.
The region is rich in natural beauty, with the lakes of the Elan Valley to the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park to the south, Nannerth Falls in the north and the green and pleasant lands of Shropshire and Herefordshire to the east. The River Wye gently winds its way through quaint villages and magnificent countryside.
As an important market town, Rhayader is also within easy reach of many towns including Aberystwyth, Abergavenny, Llanidloes, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, and Welshpool.

By Car: The hotel is just off the A470, which leads from Builth Wells in the South to Machynlleth in the North.
By Train: The nearest train station is Llandrindod Wells, which is 13 miles (21 km) away. There is also a train station at Caersws, which is just over 20 miles (32 km) away.
By Air: The hotel is approximately 85 miles (140 km) from Cardiff Airport. The journey from the airport to the hotel should take about 90 minutes.
